PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA

Ian Brown Conductor

Borodin Overture: Prince Igor
Sibelius Violin Concerto in D minor Op 43
Tchaikovsky Symphony No 5 in E minor Op 64

Russia meets Finland in the Philharmonia Orchestra's latest very welcome annual return to the Festivities. Borodin's colourful Overture and Tchaikovsky's alternately melancholy and electrifying Symphony are complemented by Sibelius' similarly meditative yet passionate Concerto, for which the Orchestra is joined by brilliant young Korean violinist Min-Jin Kym.

'Min-Jin has exceptional natural talent, mature musicality and mastery of the violin.' Sir Georg Solti
