Due to circumstances quite outside our control Shirley Williams’ talk on 29 November 2009 had to be postponed. We are very pleased to say however that an alternative date and time for this event has been arranged. It will now take place on FRIDAY 19 MARCH 2010 at 6.00 pm at The Venue
Shirley Williams is an outstanding figure in the British political landscape and one of the most dynamic and inspirational female politicians of our time. Her mother was renowned pacifist Vera Brittain and her father, George Catlin, a left wing political activist and philosopher. She was a member of the Wilson and Callaghan governments, before co-founding the SDP. She later became leader of the Liberal Democrats in The House of Lords. In her autobiography Climbing the Bookshelves she tells the remarkable story, for the first time, of her life and career and gives a fascinating insight into a life in politics. There will be an opportunity to put questions to Baroness Williams followed by a book signing. Download the Booking Form
Copies of Climbing the Bookshelves will be on sale at the event followed by a book-signing.
The Venue is located in Spur Road, at the east end of Quarry Lane, and close to the Bognor Roundabout. Stewards will be on hand to direct you to appropriate car parking areas in the vicinity.
